His career showcases a deep expertise in developing and implementing advanced financial strategies, underpinned by cutting-edge technologies and data-driven methodologies.
As the Head of Product Strategy at Korea Investment Management, Byung-Geun leads efforts in establishing innovative ETF product strategies, conducting thorough market and competitor analysis, and overseeing the development of an AI-based ETF market analysis platform. Prior to this, Byung-Geun served as the Head of the Global Equity Team at NH-Amundi Asset Management, where he was responsible for launching a pioneering Generative AI Active ETF. Byung-Geun’s expertise extends beyond asset management into risk analysis and credit modeling, as evidenced by his tenure at the Risk Management Institute (NUS) in Singapore. There, he engineered a bottom-up credit risk prediction model that analyzed default correlations across sectors and contributed to the development of credit stress testing tools for clients such as the IMF and World Bank.
His academic foundation is equally impressive. Byung-Geun completed PhD coursework in Industrial & Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan, supported by the Rackham Doctoral Fellowship. He also holds a Master’s degree in Management, Technology, and Entrepreneurship from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, with a focus on machine learning and data mining.
