Marie-Marcelle Ndebi Amvela is a globally respected authority on sustainable development, humanitarian policy, and gender-responsive governance, with over two decades of leadership across Africa, North America, and Europe. She is a recognized expert within the UN Global Compact advisory framework, a senior program strategist, and an accredited member of the Ordre Mondial des Experts Internationaux (OMEI).
Her expertise spans a wide spectrum of disciplines, including international negotiations, humanitarian logistics, monitoring and evaluation, public sector reform, and gender-sensitive budgeting. Ms. Ndebi Amvela has designed, directed, and evaluated complex multi-stakeholder development programs for international NGOs, research institutes, public-private partnerships, and regional organizations with a focus on results-based management (RBM) and policy coherence.
From 2020 to 2023, she served as Program Coordinator for the International Centre for Research and Sustainable Development in Vancouver, Canada, where she managed international relations, project development, and policy alignment across hybrid platforms. Prior to that, as Program Director at the International Humanitarian Action and Development (USA) and Specialist Advisor to the International Environment and Development Program (Cameroon/Benin), she oversaw humanitarian logistics, public-private partnerships, and integration of gender-equity strategies into national and regional development agendas.
Marie-Marcelle has also played a critical role in shaping academic and applied research on gender and sustainable development. At the IFAN Laboratory in Dakar, Senegal, she contributed to national frameworks for gender-sensitive budgeting within the public aid effectiveness agenda. Her work has directly supported policy design, impact assessment, and stakeholder empowerment across Francophone Africa.
Her educational background is both vast and elite. She holds dual Master’s degrees in Public Economics and Sustainable Development from the University of Rennes I (France) and University of Yaoundé II (Cameroon), and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development and Diplomacy from Atlantic International University (USA). She also holds specialist certifications in project finance, humanitarian assistance, international procurement (World Bank, AfDB), gender-sensitive planning, and logical framework designfrom institutions across Geneva, Paris, and Abidjan.
Fluent in French and English—with working knowledge of Spanish and German—she is a sought-after speaker and trainer on topics ranging from strategic leadership to cross-border development diplomacy.
