Paul Wilson
Strategic Commercial Leader | M&A & Financial Analyst | Digital Transformation Expert
Paul Joseph Wilson is a global commercial executive with over 20 years of experience spanning M&A strategy, operational transformation, financial analysis, and sales optimization. With a career rooted in both emerging and developed markets—including Brazil, New Zealand, and the United States—Paul has consistently delivered results in high-risk and high-growth environments across the energy, logistics, and industrial services sectors.
Most recently, Paul served as Global Commercial Manager for SGS in São Paulo, Brazil, where he led international M&A initiatives for the company’s Industrial Safety division. In this role, he originated and executed strategic acquisition opportunities—including the business case and successful advancement of Streamline Controls in Canada—leveraging UiPath robotic process automation (RPA) to streamline target identification and due diligence. He also oversaw global sales strategy, Salesforce platform optimization, and revenue forecasting across affiliates, bringing deep insight into growth acceleration and digital enablement.
Prior to this, Paul managed SGS’s New Zealand business operations, delivering a major turnaround at a critical petrochemical logistics branch. Under his leadership, the unit achieved its best financial performance in a decade, recovering lost revenue, implementing safety-first service protocols, and deepening relationships with clients including Z Energy, BP, and ExxonMobil. He also drove performance in marine services and technical sales, improving order margins and account profitability.
Earlier in his career, Paul held dual roles in HR strategy and business analysis, where he spearheaded a successful digital HR transformation and helped drive culture change in highly unionized environments. At Maersk Line, Paul served as Direct Vessel Coordinator for the NZ-US trade, managing high-value cargo and optimizing capacity planning across dry, reefer, and OOG shipments. Notably, he delivered a $150,000 cost savings for P&O Nedlloyd through operational redesign.
Paul holds dual degrees: a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington (specializing in HR and Commercial Law) and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Political Science from the University of Otago. He is fluent in English and Portuguese and brings advanced technical fluency in UiPath RPA, VBA, SOOL (Salesforce), and Microsoft Excel.
A strategic thinker with deep commercial acumen and hands-on leadership experience, Paul is recognized for his ability to execute high-stakes growth strategies while aligning digital transformation with bottom-line impact. His work reflects a balance of operational precision, financial insight, and international adaptability.
